At The Empty Crib, we understand that the journey of infertility, pregnancy loss, and child loss is filled with emotions that words often cannot capture. It's a space where hope and heartache intertwine—a space we've lived through personally.
What began as a simple blog to share our story and connect with a potential surrogate has grown into a space of connection, understanding, and healing. The Empty Crib has become a sanctuary for anyone navigating the complex emotions of loss, infertility, and the search for meaning after heartbreak.
Through personal stories, reflections, and shared experiences, we hope to offer comfort to those who feel alone in their journey. Here, every story matters, every loss is acknowledged, and every step forward is celebrated. Whether you're seeking healing, navigating IVF, or simply trying to make sense of it all, we're here to walk alongside you.
This is your journey, and we're honored to be a part of it.
Where I Am Right Now
I won't pretend this part has an ending yet, because it doesn't.
We've been through two surrogacy journeys that didn't bring us home a baby. Right now, we're at a standstill — not moving forward, not fully closing the door either. Just here, in a pause I didn't choose and don't fully know what to do with.
I still don't know if I'll become a mother the way I always pictured. That's the truth I've had to learn to sit with, instead of waiting for it to resolve before I let myself keep living.
If you're in a standstill of your own right now — whatever shape yours takes — I see you. You're not behind, and you haven't failed. You're just here, like me, one day at a time.
Have questions, or know a surrogate and want to talk? I'd love to hear from you.
